She won the gold medal in the scratch and the silver medal in the team pursuit at the 2016 Asian Cycling Championships.

She represented Japan at the 2020 Summer Olympics, and won a silver medal in the women's omnium, becoming the first Japanese woman to win an Olympic medal in cycling.
