1950

Successful skier in the late 1950s. He was ski cameraman in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) and supervised the ski sequences in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977). Later, he directed several movies about skiing.

2005

Adopted two Brazilian children with his wife Sonia: Bernhard and Florinda. Bernhard died tragically after visiting the Munich Beer Festival on 1 October 2005.
