Vic Berton was born in 1896.

1922

Jazz drummer (inventor of the lo-boy, a precursor of the hi-hat). Played in Sousa's Navy Band during World War I, then went on to play jazz in Chicago. Made famous recordings with Red Nichols and Miff Mole in the 20's, wrote 'Sobbin' Blues' in 1922 and formed his own group in the late 20's on the West Coast.

He is known for his work on Walt Roesner and the Capitolians (1928).
