He has a career high ATP singles ranking of world No. 200, achieved on 20 May 2024.
He has won 7 ITF singles titles and 2 ITF doubles titles.
Royer's parents are expatriates, and he has primarily lived in Eastern Europe, specifically Belgrade.
He trained at the Ninon Tennis Club in Pornichet and later moved to Paris for training.
He began playing tennis at the age of four.
Royer made his junior slam debut at the 2017 French Open, where he lost in the first round to Ondřej Štyler.
In doubles, he and partner Bertus Kruger lost in the first round to Dan Added and Zizou Bergs.
