The song sampled Ne-Yo's 2005 classic, "So Sick".

Following the success of his 2022 songs, on March 23, 2023, Ddot signed a recording deal with Priority Records.

He then released his debut single under the label titled "Let Ha Go".

The song's music video was released on April 30, 2023.

He also released the song "3AM in the Yams", which featured the American rapper Luh Tyler, and samples Drake and Nicki Minaj.

In 2023, Canadian rapper Drake co-signed him.

Jimenez mostly collaborated with rapper DD Osama and his younger brother Notti Osama who was stabbed to death in July 2022.

In 2023, Sugarhill released his second extended play, Make A Mess.

This was followed by his debut EP Public Service Announcement, which generated 1,000 plays in its first week.

The EP contained the hit song "3AM in the Yam".

On June 26, 2023, Sugarhill Ddot posted on his Instagram that he was working on his debut album, which will be titled SD1.

He stated the song "3AM in the Yams", would also be in the album.

In August 2023, he released a single "Shake it" alongside an accompanying music video.

In November 2023, Ddot released a new single, "My Baby", produced by Blackwhite on the Beat.

The track balanced Sugarhill Ddot's commercial reception, with the music video receiving over 700 thousand views on YouTube, after four months of it's release.

Also in December of that same year, he was featured on rapper BBG Steppaa song titled "Spinnin' (Pt. 2)".

On December 20, 2023, DD Osama a close friend and frequent collaborator released a single titled "Baby Wait", which featured Sugarhill Ddot.

Darrian Jimenez (born March 8, 2008), known professionally as Sugarhill Ddot, is an American rapper and singer from Harlem, New York.

His stage name was derived from the famous Sugar Hill area in Harlem.

Jimenez began his career as an independent artist in 2021 and signed a recording contract with Priority Records in 2023.

He gained recognition with the single "Temperature", which received favourable critical acclaim.

He also released the song "Everybody Shot".

It was included on his EP PSA (2021), alongside the singles "Too Tact" (featuring DD Osama), "New Opps", "Evil Twins" and "Doak", all of which received multiple views on YouTube.

Darrian Jimenez was born on March 8, 2008, in Harlem, New York City.

He was raised by his grandparents.

Jimenez said he was only 13 when he began making music for fun.

He said he didn't take it seriously until after couple years later after being encouraged by his friends.

While he was growing up, he witnessed harsh realities of life, living in poverty and violence.

According to Jimenez, living with his grandmother was tough, he had great responsibility:

"I grew up in the streets of Harlem, so I had to learn how to survive at a young age. That experience shaped who I am today, and it’s reflected in my music."

Ddot started writing rhymes at age 13, while he was living with his grandparents.

Jimenez started out recording raps over beats and uploading them on SoundCloud.

He began rapping with his childhood friends DD Osama and Notti Osama.

He released his first song, "Temperature" alongside fellow rapper Deeplay4Keeps, in 2021.

The song gained him initial recognition.

In November 2021, he release his debut extended play PSA (Public Service Announcement), earning him online buzz.

After the surge of popularity, he released his breakout single independently "I Wanna Love You" in 2022, sampling singer Akon's 2006 I Wanna Love You.

He gained more popularity for his songs "Dream" and "Too Tact" alongside his childhood friends DD Osama and the late Notti Osama, reaching countless users on TikTok.

It helped to rack up 34 million total streams on Spotify in the U.S. alone.

He appeared on DD Osama’s "40s n 9s" off the album Here 2 Stay in 2022.
