Timeline
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Sam grew up in the US and in Israel with a love for cinema, working at a movie theater at the age of 14. After serving in the IDF, he trained at the prestigious British American Drama Academy's Midnight In Oxford program just one year after Chadwick Boseman, with other alumni including David Schwimmer, Ruth Negga, Orlando Bloom and Paul Giamatti. Sam attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he got to audition for Shirley MacLaine and missed out on a Guest Starring role on Dawson's Creek because his pager wasn't working during class. He graduated Hunter College Theater with honors and starred in many local NYC theatre productions. An eye witness to the 9/11 tragedy, Feuer packed up and drove cross country to the West Coast. Upon his first weekend in Hollywood, he met casting director Mali Finn at an open call and was cast on the TV show The It Factor: Los Angeles (2003) which lead to numerous roles including the international hit show JAG (1995), The Bernie Mac Show (2001), Strong Medicine (2000). Among a few jobs to make ends meet, Sam worked as a manager at the famed The Comedy Store.
After a bit part in Miss Castaway and the Island Girls (2004) featuring the legendary Michael Jackson which starred Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts, Sam was discovered by Steven Spielberg and cast as Yosef Romano in the highly acclaimed film Munich (2005), nominated for 5 Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
Shared an apartment with fellow Munich (2005) actor Ossie Beck and remains very close friends with the other cast members.
Thereafter, he was cast in the film David & Fatima (2008) with Academy Award winner Martin Landau and Academy Award nominee Tony Curtis. Inspired by Spielberg, Sam backpacked to a small village in Kenya, where he optioned the rights to a story he found on the front page of the LA Times to produce his first film.
After being turned down by nearly everyone in Hollywood, he eventually set the project up with UK based BBC Films to produce the award winning film The First Grader (2010) starring Academy Award nominee Naomie Harris.
The film, directed by Justin Chadwick, premiered at the prestigious Telluride Film Festival and was runner-up to the Academy Award winning The King's Speech (2010) for the prestigious Audience Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film was featured in many of the world's most prestigious film festivals and has won over 20 awards worldwide including the NAACP Image Award and the Satellite Award. Following this success, Sam launched Big Boy Films to continue producing quality content for the broad international market working with an Academy Award, Emmy and Golden Globe winning team.
