1976

Ray began his hockey career with Sorel in 1976, he was later drafted 8th overall in 1979 by the Boston Bruins. Ray went on to play 21 and a half seasons with Boston, leading them to 2 Stanley Cup finals appearances as well as 10 Norris Trophy nominations. Realizing he wanted to win a Stanley Cup, he requested a trade and was dealt to Colorado for 3 players.
