Johnson attended high school at St. John's College.

2019

Coming out of high school, Johnson was rated as a four star recruit and the 27 best safety in the class of 2019.

Additionally, Johnson held offers from schools such as Penn State, Alabama, Boston College, Michigan, and Maryland.

Ultimately, Johnson decided to commit to play college football for the Michigan Wolverines.

In Johnson's first two seasons in 2019 and 2020 he decided to redshirt and would only play in two games throughout that time frame.

In Johnson's next two seasons in 2021 and 2022 he would combine to make 14 tackles with one going for a loss.
