Peter Dawkins was born on March 8, 1938 in Royal Oak, Michigan, USA as Peter Miller Dawkins.

1958

In 1958, he won the Heisman Trophy (as the USA'a the best college football player), the Maxwell Award (college player of the year), and was named a consensus All-America player.

1959

Graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point, New York in 1959. He is the only cadet in West Point history to serve simultaneously in the positions of brigade commander, president of his class, captain of the football team, and a "Star Man" in the top five percent of his class academically.

1962

Received a Rhodes Scholarship. He earned a BA at Brasenose College, Oxford in 1962 in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (raised to an MA in 1968).

1970

Earned a Master of Public Affairs in 1970 and a PhD in 1977 at Princeton University.

1975

Inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1975.
