On January 2024, Paola Cortellesi received backlash for giving a lesson at the Italian business university LUISS Business School on famous female characters of European fairytales, pop-culture and folklore like Snow White and Cinderella and their, according to her, "sexist stereotypes".

The criticism focused around her allegedly exploiting her position as an actress to teach in form of propaganda at a university specialized in business about alleged and unproven "sexist stereotypes" in fairytales without any valid basis and qualification, which also included the demonization of male positive characters and ignoring the fact that the antagonists of these stories were also females.
