Timeline

1962

Milton Subotsky, a major British filmmaker, joined with Max Rosenberg in 1962 to form Amicus Productions to produce low- to medium-budget horror and anthology films (they also formed Cinerama Releasing in 1966), usually shot in England and Scotland.

1971

These included The House That Dripped Blood (1971), Scream and Scream Again (1970), And Now the Screaming Starts! (1973), the Roy Ward Baker horror films Tales from the Crypt (1972) and The Vault of Horror (1973) and Oliver Stone's first feature film, Seizure (1974). Both Subotsky and Rosenberg got help from Samuel Z. Arkoff and James H. Nicholson in releasing the British films worldwide.

1975

After Cinerama Releasing folded and went out of business due to the lack of British investment in 1975, Rosenberg and Subotsky went their separate ways. Rosenberg rarely continued with filmmaking, but Subotsky kept his hand in American horror films, helping to bring a number of Stephen King's novels to the screen up.
