He is a three-time MLA from Nuzvid Assembly Constituenc y in Krishna District.

1971

He did his graduation in commerce from DAR College, Nuzvid in 1971.

He married Sujatha Devi.

2004

Pratap was elected as Nuzvid MLA for the first time in 2004 on Indian National Congress Party ticket.

2014

He joined YSR Congress Party in 2014 and contested the Nuzvid seat representing YSRCP and won the 2014 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election defeating Muddaraboina Venkateswara Rao by a margin of 10,397 votes.

2019

He won for the third time in 2019.

He is nominated by YSR Congress Party to contest the Nuzvid assembly seat in the 2024 Andhra Pradesh Legisative Assembly Election to be held on 13 May 2024.
