Beside his activity for the stage Mark Lothar also was engaged for composing film music. Already in 1921 he was mentioned in a movie for the first time called "Teufel und Circe".

1928

He already had his first huge success in 1928 with his opera "Tyll". It followed other operas like "Münchhausen" (1933), "Schneider Wibbel" (1938) and his last important work "Momo und die Zeitdiebe" (1978).

In May 1938 his opera Tailor Wibbel, inspired by a play by Hans Müller-Schlösser, was performed at the Berlin State Opera.
