Justin Wayne Wright (born August 18, 1989) is an American baseball relief pitcher who is currently a free agent. He is 5' 9" tall, considered short for a professional pitcher.

2008

Wright was born in Fairfax, Virginia and attended Forest Park High School before going to Virginia Tech, where he played from 2008 to 2010. He posted a won-loss record of 19-7 while attending. In 2009, he played collegiate summer baseball for the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League, and returned to the league in 2010 to play for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks. He was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 47th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft, and began his professional career that year.

2010

Wright did not allow a run and struck out 10 batters in 7.2 innings with the Batavia Muckdogs in 2010 and in 2011, he was 5-1 with five saves and a 1.03 ERA in 32 appearances between three teams. In 52.1 innings, he allowed 27 hits and had 70 strikeouts and earned Mid-Season All-Star honors and a MiLB.com Organization All-Star selection. He played for the Peoria Javelinas in the Arizona Fall League that year, as well. In 2012, Wright was 0-3 with a 4.45 ERA in 50 games, though he averaged 9.5 strikeouts per nine innings. In 2013, he was 1-1 with a 5.34 mark in 50 games, but averaged 9.8 Ks per nine innings. He had his first taste of Triple-A in 2014, going 4-0 with a 6.65 ERA in 16 games for Memphis; he also played for the Springfield Cardinals that year and was 6-1 with a 3.43 ERA in 47 games as a whole. In 2015, he played for Springfield and Memphis and went 2-2 with a 3.02 ERA in 48 games. He also spent time between Memphis and Springfield during the 2016 season; he finished the season 0-5 with a 5.02 ERA.

2017

Wright signed with the Somerset Patriots for the 2017 season. He became a free agent after the season.
