John Anthony Devereux is a professor of law at the University of Queensland.

Educated at St Joseph's College Gregory Terrace, Devereux went on to study a Bachelor of Arts (1984) and Bachelor of Laws (1987) at the University of Queensland.

He served in Iraq in 2007-2008 and Afghanistan in 2011-2012 and 2017-2018.
