Jack Schultz was born John Erdmann Schultz, Jr. on September 19, 1953 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

1976

He relocated to suburban Chicago, Illinois in 1976 and became involved in the local repertory theater community a few years later, primarily with the Riverfront Playhouse in Aurora, Illinois. Also an accomplished musician, composer, and lyricist, Jack was the author of the popular musical comedy Fat Bill's Roadside Café.

1987

Fat Bill's Roadside Cafe was originally produced for the Riverfront stage in 1987, but was revived and updated periodically through some dozen incarnations, most recently in 2010. Jack was also the author of the plays Nicht Mara which featured his wife and soul mate Sherry Winchester Schultz in the leading role, Eretica, Alternatives, the popular comedy While You Were Out, a contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare's Macbeth entitled The M Word, the popular musical adaptations of George Romero's Night of the Living Dead, and Charles Dickens' perennial Christmastime classic A Christmas Carol, both with music and lyrics by Jack.

2012

Shortly after completing an acting role in his first motion picture production Heaven is Hell, Jack died suddenly and unexpectedly on September 16, 2012 of a massive heart attack.
