Íris Abravanel

Íris Pássaro Abravanel (born 26 July 1948) is a Brazilian businesswoman, journalist, writer and author of telenovelas, known for her marriage to businessman and communicator Silvio Santos, on 20 February 1981, with whom she had been in a conjugal relationship since 1978. They had four daughters: Daniela, Patrícia, Rebecca and Renata. She is the owner of the company Sister's in Law, director of the cosmetics company Jequiti, a product line of the Silvio Santos Group.

A patrilineal descendant of Italians, she began a romantic relationship with Silvio Santos in 1974, then recently separated from his first wife Maria Aparecida Vieira, known as Cidinha, who died in 1977. Íris and Sílvio met on a beach. Rumors say that they met in the elevator, when she was still an employee at Baú da Felicidade, but according to herself, who was being interviewed on De Frente com Gabi, this was nothing more than an invention. According to her, her family was against the relationship, since the presenter was divorced, eighteen years older, father of two daughters and famous. They made their marriage official in 1981, when they already had three young daughters. In 1992, due to Silvio's excessive jealousy, the couple went through a separation that lasted a year, but they decided to resume their union.

According to her, her career as an author came in 2007, after Silvio commented on the difficulty of getting good ratings. As a columnist for the magazine Contigo!, Walcyr Carrasco said that the two should make a soap opera together.

In 2008, taking advantage of the fact that SBT decided to relaunch its teledramaturgy nucleus, Íris launched herself as the author of telenovelas, having Yves Dumont as her text supervisor. His first telenovela was called Revelação and was only aired after the full recording was completed.

In 2009, Íris returns to scriptwriting, this time adapting the radio texts by Janete Clair, whose rights were bought by SBT. This time, the direction of the work is in the hands of the well-known director Del Rangel.

In 2010, he wrote the telenovela Corações Feridos, which premiered in November of the same year and was presented two years later.

On May 21, 2012, Íris debuted her fourth telenovela, a reproduction of the telenovela Carrossel, which ended on July 26, 2013, being succeeded by another remake, by Chiquititas, which was last shown on August 14, 2015. It was succeeded by the remake of Cúmplices de um Resgate, which was last shown on December 13, 2016. It was succeeded by the remake of Carinha de Anjo which was last shown on June 6, 2018. It was succeeded by As Aventuras de Poliana which was last shown on July 13, 2020.
