German-born fashion designer of well-to-do upbringing. Trained in Berlin, later joining a relative in California and settling down. Worked on western costumes for Republic, then joined Samuel Goldwyn as head wardrobe designer at United Artists between 1938 and 1941. From 1950 to 1965, she was head designer for Tabak women's sportswear. Also designed under her own label.
