Handgod Abraham (born 23 November 1986) is a Haitian poet, cultural operator and entrepreneur.
He is president and founding member of the Marathon du Livre, president of the user group of the Wikimedia community in Haiti and co-executive director of Éditions Pulùcia.
Handgod Abraham was born on 23 November 1986.
He did his primary education at the Sacré-Cœur school and his secondary studies at Notre-Dame college and Faustin Soulouque high school.
He studied educational sciences and legal sciences.
Abraham collaborates in youth activities that promote works of art and literary works such as Literary cultural and artistic movement of young people ( MOLICAJ) and other youth groups from the city of Petit-Goâve and other cities in Haiti.
He is secretary general of the Autonomous Cooperation of Technicians for Community Development and Animation (CATDACo).
Handgod Abraham has already published three collections of poems, notably "Tou Limen" which was exhibited at the TDAART gallery in Petit-Goâve, "In the landscape of my muse" appreciated for the musicality of the verses.
He also participates in several collective works.
For years, he has chaired the Marathon du Livre, one of the biggest literary events in the city of Petit-Goâve.
Abraham follows in the footsteps of Georges Castera whom he met for the first and only time in 2015 at the Haiti International Book Fair under the initiative of the National Book Directorate (DNL).
From 14 to 17 December 2017 he participated with Coutechève Lavoie Aupont as guests of honor in the first edition of the poetry festival in Jacmel.
This festival was organized on the theme “Ekri Lavi”, at the initiative of “Espas Kiltirèl pou Rankont ak Inovasyon” (EKRI) in partnership with Éditions Pulùcia and other partners.
Abraham is a member of RADI (Rasanbleman pou Diyite Ayiti), a group of citizens composed of artists, writers, researchers and members of various liberal professions, which fights against inequalities social issues in Haiti.
Handgod Abraham was signing with his collection titled "Anba dra" at the "Festival Entènasyonal Literati Kreyòl" at the "Marathon du Livre" and in "Livres en liberté" in December 2019.
Alongside two other young poets, Ecclesiaste Étienne and Samuel Clermont, he received carte blanche at the sixth edition of LIVAKTE camping.
In February 2020, he received the "Palme d'or" from the magazine Palmes Magazine for his involvement in the socio-cultural management of his hometown and other cities in the country.
In August 2020, on the occasion of the final of a text competition "Petit-Goâve and its heritage" organized in Petit-Goâve, he was one of the 10 young people honored as positive influencers for their contribution to the development of their community.
Invited to the reopening of Jeux Dits Pwezi, at Vieux Four in the town of Jacmel, on 1 October 2020, he signed his collection of poems Anba dra.
