Timeline
(Booker Huffman) on December 29th. Disco formed an on-and-off tag team with Alex Wright that were unofficially called the Dancing Fools, with Tokyo Magnum (Katsumasa Kuroki) as an unofficial third member.
He was trained by Steve Lawler and started in the North Georgia Wrestling Alliance in 1991. He held the NGWA Tag Team Titles with Ashley Clark.
American professional wrestler best known for his work for WCW from 1995 to the bitter end as Disco Inferno.
He arrived in WCW in 1995, making his TV debut in a win over Scott Armstrong (Scott James) on the September 16 (taped August 21), 1995 "WCW Saturday Night. " He was a midcarder, winning matches over lower-ranked talents but losing to names such as Eddie Guerrero and, in his final WCW appearance, Sabu (Terry Brunk).
He made his PPV debut in the 60-man three-ring battle royal at "WCW World War 3" in November 1995.
In late 1996, he started a storyline where he boasted about having a great leglock submission hold called the Last Dance and he would threaten his opponents with it before his matches. He would be winning and would go to apply the hold and would "forget" how to put it on his opponent. This, of course, would lead to him losing the match.
He also wrestled for the USWA in Memphis, where he had some matches with Miss Texas (Jacqueline Moore), who he would encounter again in WCW in 1997.
WCW temporarily fired him in early 1997 for refusing to lose a match to Jacqueline.
After Disco surprised everyone on the September 22, 1997 "WCW Monday Nitro" by defeating Alex Wright) for the WCW World Television Championship, Jacqueline confronted him and said that she wanted a match with him. This led to Jacqueline defeating Disco in a non-title match (due to how WCW wouldn't/couldn't sanction an intergender match for a title) at "WCW Halloween Havoc 97.
" Perry Saturn defeated Disco for the title in his WCW TV debut on the November 3, 1997 "WCW Monday Nitro.
" Disco regained the title on the December 8, 1997 "WCW Monday Nitro" and held it for three weeks, losing it to Booker T.
He did eventually win the title, defeating Psicosis (Dionicio Castellanos) for it on the October 4, 1999 "WCW Monday Nitro," after Psicosis had been announced as having "won" the title 2 days earlier in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. (A recurring gag in professional wrestling has been to announce that a title changed hands in Rio even though no actual match ever took place. The real story was that Lenny Lane (Leonard Carlson) had been Champion but GLAAD had been putting pressure on WCW because of Lane's gay gimmick, so Lane was randomly stripped of the title with Psicosis being announced as the new Champion.
) Disco lost it to Evan Karagias at the "WCW Mayhem 1999" PPV on November 21st. Disco then moved into a feud with the Mamalukes (Big Vito (Vito LoGrasso) and Johnny the Bull (Jon Hugger, who did a Mafia gimmick) and their manager/loan shark Tony Marinara (Charles Spencer), as Disco supposedly owed them money.
In 2000, the team would be officially named the Boogie Knights Disco became a heel in mid-1998. In October, he started challenging Billy Kidman (Peter Gruner) for the WCW World Cruiserweight Title without success. He started claiming to be a member of the NWO Wolfpac, though he was never officially recognized as such.
After WWE bought WCW in March 2001, they did not pick up Disco's contract.
He went off to the independents, making appearances for Border City Wrestling (Ontario, Canada), World Wrestling All-Stars, the International Wrestling Cartel (western Pennsylvania), Toryumon Japan, and several other promotions, as well as being in and out of TNA from 2002-2004. While there, he appeared under his own name as a member of Russo's heel faction Sports Entertainment Xtreme, and teamed with Johnny Swinger (Joe Dorgan) as the New York Connection. (Both names were created for their initials: S. E. X. and N. Y. C. ) He still actively competes for a variety of promotions. He also held the MEWF (Mid-Eastern Wrestling Federation in Maryland) Heavyweight Title.
In January 2003, he returned to NWA-TNA using his real name, Glen Gilberti. As of July 2004, he is currently working there as a wrestler, manager, annoucer and booker.
