Geraldine Rauch graduated from high school in Freiburg in 2002 and studied mathematics with a minor in biology at the University of Bremen.

2006

From 2006 to 2007 she studied biometry/biostatistics for two semesters at the University of Bremen.

2007

After studying at Cardiff University, she completed her studies in July 2007.

From 2007 to 2009, Rauch completed his doctorate in the biostatistics department in cooperation with the University of Bremen.

2009

From 2009 to 2016, Rauch worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Medical Biometry and Informatics at Heidelberg University Hospital.

2012

From 2012 onwards, he headed thSte “Clinical Studies” working group there.

When demonstrations for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip were organized at Berlin universities in 2024, Rauch focused on dialogue with the students.

After calls for her resignation, she apologized in a public statement, that she has not seen the detail.

She decided to remain president on June 6, 2024.

She justified her decision by stating that the academic senate had not submitted a request for deselection.

In a formal poll, 13 senate members voted for her resignation and 12 against.

The campaign against Geraldine Rauch was primarily supported by the CDU and the media of Axel Springer SE.

The CDU chairman Friedrich Merz demanded that the Chancellor remove Geraldine Rauch from the government's Future Council.

The Tageszeitung pointed out that Merz had shown less "fighting courage" in the affair about Antisemitic pamphlets of his party friend Hubert Aiwanger.
