Not only is Geoff a 5th generation San Franciscan, but he is an award winning director, producer, and an accomplished actor with over 25 years of experience in film, television, advertising, and New Media. Geoff has acted in multiple films, and is usually cast in one-on-one scenes with the A List stars including Will Smith, Nicole Kidman, Ashley Judd and Mark Ruffalo. He has been compared to Tom Hanks, the kind of actor who can play characters who "can steal your heart, and then your wallet". Although Acting is his passion, he has had an amazingly successful career as a documentary film Producer and Director, focusing on films that can make a difference in society and in personal inspiration and growth. He is the President & Founder of Emergency Clock Productions he has produced and/or directed numerous award winning documentaries, short films, Super Bowl commercials, sports television shows, original web series & content, national and international social media campaigns.
This film focused on the marriage equality movement that then Mayor Gavin Newsom ignited in 2004. Geoff is also the brother-in-law of current California Governor Gavin Newsom.
Geoff also produced and co-directed the Award Winning Documentary Film, Pursuit of Equality (2005), which has been lauded for being a "must see" film and as "required viewing for all Americans". Along with the film winning multiple film festival Audience Awards, Geoff was awarded the "Local Hero Award" by GLAAD and recognized and honored by 7x7 Magazine as an "Innovative Leader in the Creative Industry" (Category: Independent Filmmaking).

In 2009, then San Francisco, CA: Mayor Gavin Newsom and actor Jason Lewis presented a Local Hero Award to San Francisco filmmakers Geoff Callan and Mike Shaw for their film Pursuit of Equality (2005).
In 2012 Grant became the first spinal cord injured athlete to literally PUSH himself ~nearly 100 miles (the final degree of latitude) to the most inhospitable place on the planet - the bottom of the glove, the geographic South Pole.
In 2013, he was selected, along with 4 other filmmakers, to compete in the Napa Valley Film Festival's Sony 4k Film Challenge. He was selected by SONY and the NVFF to direct a 5-minute short film. Based on a randomly assigned topic and using the latest SONY equipment, Hey Mickey was the film delivered by "Team Callan". Produced in less than 50 hours it stars Mickey the Baboon (Tom Cruise's sidekick "Hey Man" in the film Rock of Ages).
In 2014, Geoff played a season as a QB with the Marin County Pride, a Semi-Pro Football team. At 46, he was the oldest player to make the team.
Geoff co-directed and co-wrote and also produced with Jeffrey Allard, the feature documentary film, The Push: Owning Your Reality Is Where the Journey Begins (2018), an inspiring film about Grant Korgan a world-class adventurer, who burst-fractured his L1 vertebrae while filming a snowmobiling segment in the Sierra Nevada back country.
