Frank 'Lefty' Rosenthal was born on June 12, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois, USA as Frank Larry Rosenthal. He was married to Geraldine ("Geri") McGee.

1970

In The 1970s, whilst unable to obtain a gaming license, he starred in a talk show promoting the Stardust Casino. The show was called "The Frank Rosenthal Show" and was originally hosted in a television studio but was moved to the Stardust casino later on. His first guest on the Stardust version of the show was Frank Sinatra (in his first ever talk show appearance.

1984

His daughter Stephanie was a superb swimmer and he made an attempt to enter her into the 1984 Olympic games (at the age of 11) but was unsuccessful. No further attempts were made.

1990

Nicholas Pileggi, celebrated author and Hollywood screenwriter of "Wiseguy" and Goodfellas (1990), describes the unique life and times of Rosenthal in his book "Casino". Martin Scorsese directed the film version of Casino (1995).
