Eric Maxwell was born in Roswell, New Mexico on June 24, 1976. He briefly lived in Texas before moving to the Phoenix Metropolitan area in Arizona, where he spent most of his life. As a child & young teen, Eric loved camping, fishing, & traveling with his beloved grandparents (Bepa & Mema), mother (Karyn), step-dad (Denny), & two step siblings (Tamiru & Stacy) whom he simply called his brother & sister. He visited all 50 States of the United States & dreamed of traveling to Paris one day. As he grew older, he loved music, writing, singing and playing the guitar. He learned to snowboard, golf, & play tennis.
In early 2002, Eric and his best friend, Andy Roddam, took a 9 month RV trip across the country, exploring America and meeting people.
In late 2002, they moved to Los Angeles to fulfill their dreams. While working numerous jobs, Eric Still found time to write and record a number of songs in his small make-shift studio.
In November 2004, Eric met his future wife, Maile Berger, while he was working at the Burbank Tennis Center.
He proposed in May 2006 and they moved into their home in Santa Clarita, CA in August of the same year. Together, they worked to make their house into their dream home, spending countless hours painting & upgrading the interior, as well as replanting the front & back yards. One project, in particular, was building Eric the studio of his dreams.
Eric and Maile were married in the beautiful Malibu Mountains on August 19, 2007. It was the happiest day of Eric's life.
Although music was his first love, all things in the realm of sound were his passion and in July 2007 Eric began working as an assistant sound editor.
In June 2008, he joined the Motion Pictures Editors Guild, and began working as a freelance sound editor for Warner Bros. and Technicolor Sound. He was nominated for a Golden Reel award that same year.
On March 15, 2009, after not feeling well for a few weeks, Eric was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. Eric took on the disease with determination and strength, always believing he would be cured.
