1955

Morin was one of a group of French intellectuals, which also included Mauriac and Sartre, who formed a committee of action against the war in Algeria, in November of 1955.

1956

His many books and publications include two early sociological books on cinema: "Le cinéma ou l'homme imaginaire" (1956) and "Les Stars" (1957).

1961

Co-directed the groundbreaking documentary Chronicle of a Summer (1961) together with ethnographer Jean Rouch and coined the now popular term Cinéma Vérité in one of his texts shortly before the film was produced.

1965
