He plays his club football for Claregalway.

He has also represented IT Sligo in the Sigerson Cup and FBD League.

2008

In the replay of the final against Roscommon, Cummins scored two goals and was named man of the match as Galway won the J. J. Nestor Cup for the first time since 2008.

2011

Cummins played on the Galway team that won the Under-21 Championship in 2011.
