1993

Sentenced to death in 1993 after being convicted of murdering three boy scouts. However, in recent years, his case has been strengthened by DNA evidence and in 2011 he was able to enter an Alford Plea and was released for time served.

2003

The state Supreme Court has granted him more time to complete DNA testing in the case of the slaying of three West Memphis boys a decade ago. [July 2003]

Co-wrote the lyrics to the Pearl Jam song, "Army Reserve" from the band's 2006 self-titled album.
