He was educated at Allan Glen's School, where he was a prominent member of the chess club and represented the school in several tournaments.

1966

He has represented Scotland nine times in Chess Olympiads from 1966–1990.

1968

Pritchett represented Scotland three times in Student Olympiads, from 1968–1970.
