In 2005, he represented at the Under-18 Craven Week competition.

2006

He progressed through their age groups, representing them at Under-19 level in 2006 and at Under-21 level in 2007.

He was also included in the South Africa Under-19 squad for the 2006 Under 19 Rugby World Championship.

2007

He was included in 's squad for the 2007 Vodacom Cup and made his first class debut in the opening match of the season, a 51–21 victory over the in Cape Town.
