2013

Christopher Barnett has composed jazz, orchestral and experimental scores for independent films which have broadcast on BBC, Film4, Channel 4, SKY, Horror Channel as well as winning awards at many international film festivals. Having studied, formally and informally, performance and composition in jazz, classical and ethnomusicology intensively in the UK and US, he holds a BMus from Roehampton Institute/Univ. of Surrey and an MMus from London College of Music. Specialising mainly in films and documentaries, his credits include the award winning, BAFTA nominated, 'A Cock & Bull Story', (with its British all-star cast of Steve Coogan, Rob Brydon, Naomie Harris, Benedict Wong, Shirley Henderson, Kelly MacDonald, David Walliams, Gillian Anderson and Stephen Fry); 'Borrowed Time' starring Phil Davis which was nominated 'Best of The Fest' at the 2013 Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) and 'Three Minute Moments' (2009), a romantic comedy for which he composed an orchestral jazz based score with songs and lyrics for vocal duet.

2016

In 2016 Christopher was named 'Best Film Music Composer: UK' and 'Best Original Score for a Documentary: The First Film (2015)' in the Media Awards and 'Most Outstanding Film Music Composer' in the Global Excellence Awards for his music for David Nicholas Wilkinson's 2015 EIFF nominated documentary, 'The First Film' (Film4).

2017

In 2017, he scored the hard hitting, Channel 4 documentary 'Modern British Slavery' and a short film, 'The Sound' starring Joseph Mawle (Game of Thrones) and Sienna Guillory (Resident Evil: Apocalypse). Most recently Christopher scored Guerilla Docs 'Postcards from the 48%' written and directed by David Wilkinson. As well as work published by the LCM Grade 8 piano syllabus, he has composed incidental music for theatre, corporate campaigns as well as ceremony music for TheWIFTS Foundation International Visionary Awards, (held in London and Los Angeles).
