Carter Stevens

He was born Malcom Stephen Worob on October 17, 1944 in Newark, New Jersey.

Stevens grew up in the suburbs in the 1950's. He studied Photographic Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Carter first became interested in making feature films while working as a supervisor at a New York City movie lab.

Graduated from Mountain High School in West Orange, New Jersey in 1962.

Noted pornographer Carter Stevens rates highly as one of the true founding fathers of 1970's American East Coast adult cinema.

A majority of his 1970's porno features tend to be light-hearted and mildly comic in tone while his 1980's films are often darker and more serious. In addition, Stevens has also acted in numerous X-rated pictures using the alias Steven Mitchell; he was usually partnered with actress Marlene Willoughby. Among the famous hardcore thespians Carter has worked with throughout his career are Serena, Jamie Gillis, Harry Reems, Georgina Spelvin, Eric Edwards, Marc Stevens, and Robert Kerman.

Stevens made his film debut with the tongue-in-cheek romp "The Collegiates" in 1972.

Moreover, Stevens reinvented himself in the early 1980's as the editor/publisher of "The S&M News," which was the third largest fetish paper in America.

He largely retired from the porn industry in the late 1990's. More recently Carter has done interviews and commentaries on DVD releases of his movies.
