Graduated from RADA in 1982, winning a total of SIX Awards.
Has been compared to and even mistaken for actor Julian Sands. Interestingly, the two actors starred opposite each other in Privates on Parade (1983), and again in Oxford Blues (1984). In 1999, Payne played the role of The Warlock in the third warlock film WARLOCK III: THE END OF INNOCENCE (1999) .
