Robert D. "Bob" Zuckerman (born December 19, 1960) is an American politician, community activist, progressive reformer and a small business advocate and owner.
In 1999, he founded eShow, the first public consumer exposition showcasing technology and the Internet, which attracted 7,000 attendees and dozens of sponsors and exhibitors.
While at the GCCDC, a non-profit dedicated to the preservation and revitalization of the Gowanus Canal area in Brooklyn, Zuckerman encouraged smart development along the Gowanus Canal corridor and helped area residents to access affordable housing.
The U.S. House of Representatives approved $300,000 in federal money for the development of a “Sponge Park” esplanade along the Gowanus Canal, a project Zuckerman spearheaded while at the Gowanus Canal Conservancy.
He has also been a critic of the proposed Atlantic Yards project.
Zuckerman has been a strong proponent of LGBT issues.
He is a former board member of Lambda Independent Democrats and a member of Stonewall Democrats.
From 2000 to 2003, he served as the President of the Stonewall Democratic Club of New York (SDCNY).
He has co-chaired its board of governors since 2005 and served on the board of directors of the National Stonewall Democrats since 2007.
He holds a Juris Doctor from American University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Emory University.
