Amy Blankson (born March 11, 1980) is an American author and speaker known for her advocacy of positive psychology and digital wellness.
Blankson received a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University and a Master of Business Administration from Yale School of Management.
As a sophomore in high school, Blankson was selected as a delegate to the Presidents' Summit for America's Future, a conference headlined by Oprah Winfrey and all four living US Presidents, and organized by America's Promise.
After attending the Summit, Blankson organized the Central Texas Youth Summit for 1,200 teens to learn about civic engagement.
As a result, Blankson was named a Point of Light by two US Presidents.
Soon after, she was named as one of the youngest Presidential appointees in history by President Clinton, who appointed her to serve a five-year term on the board of the Corporation for National and Community Service, which is known for overseeing Americorps.
Blankson then went on to attend Harvard University, where she graduated cum laude in 2002 with a degree in Government.
After college, Blankson worked as a Policy Fellow for Connecticut Voices for Children, advocating for youth in the foster care and juvenile justice systems.
She then went on to attend the Yale School of Management, where she earned her MBA.
After graduating, Blankson co-founded GoodThinkInc., a positive psychology consultancy, with her brother Shawn Achor.
The company consisted of researchers, speakers, and trainers who offer positive psychology-related services to improve work performance.
Her brother Shawn Achor's TED talk, listed as one of TED's 25 most popular talks of all time, gave Blankson the moniker of Amy the Unicorn.
In 2012, Blankson co-authored the children's book Ripple's Effect with her brother, Shawn Achor, as a way to bring positive psychology concepts to children.
The book was later bought by Source Books and renamed How to Make a Shark Smile.
In 2015, Blankson was featured in an online learning class with the Oprah Winfrey network as part of a 21 Day Happiness Course.
