Velimir Bujanec (Varaždin, 18 November 1974) is Croatian far right journalist and talk show host.

He is editor and host of Croatian political talk show Bujica.

Velimir Bujanec was born in Varaždin, on 18 November 1974 He spent his early years in Varaždinske Toplice.

He completed schooling at the First gymnasium of Varaždin and subsequently studied political science in Zagreb.

1990

In 1990 he became president of Croatian Democratic Union's youth branch with the support of Ivić Pašalić.

During 1990's he entered journalism and published work in ST, Hrvatsko pravo and Panorama.

He was also the main editor of tabloid Imperijal.

1991

In 1991 he became president of Croatian Party of Rights youth.

During the Croatian War of Independence he joined the Croatian Army and participated in Operation Flash and Operation Storm.

1996

In 1996, he gave an interview to Croatian magazine Nacional, in which he complained how "hard it is to find a girlfriend willing to attend masses for poglavnik and Independent State of Croatia."

In his young years he also caused controversy by posing with swastikas and in Nazi uniforms.

He later tried to distance himself from this, and described himself as "right-wing" and "conservative".

He also claimed that he only wore Nazi uniforms as carnival masks.

2009

In 2009, he launched a talk show Bujica on Open TV which later became Jabuka TV (Apple TV).

He subsequently started broadcasting his talk show on other local Croatian television networks such as: Mreža TV, Osječka televizija and Z1 television.

According to Croatian daily Jutarnji list initially his talk show only interviewed marginal people of the Croatian right-wing political scene unknown to the wider public.

However, with his support, some of these people became high ranking political officials in all levels of government.

2014

Bujanec also played a major role in 2014–2016 Croatian war veterans protest.

In 2014, he was arrested for providing a prostitute with cocaine and spent a month in Remetinec prison.

For this he was sentenced to 10 months in prison, suspended for three years.

In 2023, he and two other men were recorded singing the song Jasenovac i Gradiška Stara which glorifies massacres perpetrated by the Ustaše during World War II.

2015

In 2015, then presidential candidate Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović gave her first interview on Bujica.

After Grabar-Kitarović won the presidential elections, Bujanec was invited to her presidential inauguration, which established Bujanec on the Croatian right-wing political scene.

According to Jutarnji, after Karamarko won a majority in elections in 2015, many of the guests from Bujica were appointed to distinguished positions.

2017

In 2017, Bujanec married Karolina Šego.
