T. J. Bass (born March 31, 1999) is an American football guard for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL).

He played college football at Butte before transferring to Oregon and was signed by the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent after the 2023 NFL Draft.

Bass was born on March 31, 1999.

He attended Mount Baker High School in Deming, Washington, where he played football and track, being a tight end and defensive end in the former.

He was named the conference co-most valuable player and an all-state selection as a senior, but was ranked a zero-star recruit.

He had no offers to play college football but enrolled at the University of Idaho following his time at Mount Baker.

2018

Bass grayshirted at Idaho before joining Butte College in January 2018.

He played two seasons for the Butte Roadrunners and was a top player for the team at offensive guard; he earned first-team California All-American honors as a freshman and as a sophomore again received the honor while also being all-conference and a junior college All-American.

He was ranked a four-star junior college recruit and was named the best junior college offensive guard nationally by 247Sports.

Bass received many high-level Division I offers and eventually chose to play for the Oregon Ducks.

2020

In his first year at Oregon, 2020, Bass started all seven games at left guard and earned honorable mention all-conference honors.

In 2021, he started all 14 games, the first six at left guard and the final eight at left tackle, being named a first-team All-Pac-12.

Bass started every game again in his final season, 2022, and was named first-team All-Pac-12 and a second-team All-American by The Athletic.

He was invited to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl after the season.

He finished his college career having started all 34 games for the Ducks, 13 at left guard and the rest at left tackle.

After going unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft, Bass was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent.

He impressed the team in preseason, being the only lineman on the team not to allow a quarterback pressure in their three games.

On August 29, 2023, the Cowboys announced that he had made the initial 53-man roster.
