Woods was born in Chatham, Virginia, to jazz great Rusty Bryant.

1970

In the late 1970s, he was a member of the funk band Crowd Pleasers.

In the 1970s and 1980s, Stevie was married to Hollywood actress/entrepreneur Cheri Woods (née Lewis).

1980

In the early 1980s, his two singles, "Steal the Night" and "Just Can't Win 'Em All", reached top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100.

After his brief U.S. fame fizzled, Woods relocated to Germany, where he successfully re-launched his career, releasing the single "Rock Me Baby" and starring in the musical Starlight Express.

1985

In 1985 they had a daughter, Tiana Woods, now an L.A.-based singer/songwriter and front woman for the band Varna.

2001
