Goh grew up on the north shore of Sydney, attending St Aloysius' College. In 2004 he was a member of Australia's Junior Davis Cup team and had a win over future world number four Kei Nishikori. He made an ATP Tour main draw appearance in 2009 as a wildcard pairing with Brydan Klein in the doubles of the Medibank International in Sydney.
