The rest of his career, which lasted from 1969 to 1989, was mainly spent in the Swedish Elitserien.

He played 14 games for the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League during the 1981–82 season.

Internationally Stoltz played for the Swedish national team at the 1981 World Championships, winning a silver medal.
