Robert Malcolm McInnes (born 1963 ), also known as Sifu Robert McInnes or Sifu Robert McInnes, is a New Zealand former martial arts practitioner.

1980

McInnes founded the Sir Gee Dorr Kung Fu Schools in New Zealand, which he ran between 1980 and 1991.

1988

In 1988, a 17-year-old student, Jason Dooley, drowned during one of McInnes' training exercises, when he forced a group of students to swim in the Waiwera River while shooting a firearm in their direction.

Following Dooley's death, McInnes was criticized for what was deemed extreme training exercises, including having students shave their heads and swear allegiance to him.

1989

McInnes was not charged for Dooley's death, but in 1989 he was sentenced to "10 months' periodic detention for discharging a weapon likely to endanger the life of his students".

1992

In 1992, McInnes immigrated to Thailand.

2010

In 2010, McInnes was charged with impersonating a SWAT officer in Pattaya, Thailand, and illegal possession of a firearm.

McInnes is founder of The World Kumite Organization (WKO) and Shorin Kempo Kaikan.
