From December 1929 to June 1930 won 18 straight fights by knockout.

1933

On 10 February 1933 Carnera knocked out Ernie Schaaf in 13 rounds in New York City and Schaaf went into a coma and died a few days later.

1934

When he fought 184 lb Tommy Loughran on 1 March 1934, the 86 lb weight difference was the greatest ever in a boxing title match.

1943

He fought in the Italian underground in World War II against the the Nazis and fascist dictator Benito Mussolini until he was captured and interned. He was released by Allied forces after Italy surrendered in 1943.
