Attended and graduated from St. John's High School in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1936, at age 14.
Worked at the Canadian Wheat Board in Winnipeg, Manitoba in the late 1940s and early 1950s with Ernest P. O'Dowda prior to beginning his career in television.
Received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Manitoba (1945).
(March 17, 1946) Was hired at CHUM radio as a disc jockey in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Hall was the host/performer and narrator of two television film shows for kids: "Cowboy Theater", which was seen on Saturday afternoons on WRCA TV Ch. 4 in New York City from Saturday September 15, 1956 to Saturday March 2, 1957; and "Fun In the Morning", seen on Saturday mornings on WNEW TV Ch. 5 in New York City from Saturday May 16, 1959 to Saturday September 25, 1959. Mr. Hall also hosted a kids game show: "Video Village Junior" (Kids version of The Weekday morning adults game show: "Video Village". Hall hosted "Video Village Junior" with actress/singer and model, Eileen Barton, and announcer, Kenny Williams (Ms. Barton and Mr. Williams also served as comedy relief on the show) Saturday mornings on the CBS TV Network from Saturday September 30, 1961 to Saturday June 16, 1962.
Filled in as master of ceremonies on other daytime game shows on NBC (What's This Song?, P. D. Q.) from time to time before Let's Make a Deal (1963) moved to ABC.
Received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6801 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California on August 24, 1973 (his 52nd birthday).
Hall was elected President of Variety Clubs International (1975).
Hall was honored with the Lifetime Title of International Chairman (1981).
