He is known for his writing and performances that criticize and satirize contemporary celebrity and consumer culture.
Michael ("Mike") Albo was born on May 22, 1969, in the Wright Patterson AFB Hospital, Ohio.
He attended secondary schools in Springfield, Virginia and Las Vegas, Nevada.
He graduated from West Springfield High School in Fairfax County, Virginia.
Albo received a B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1991, and a M.A. in Creative Writing from Columbia University School of the Arts in 1996.
Albo has lived and worked in New York City since 1993.
