Maurice Bacon (born 26 January 1952) is an English drummer and producer.

He was a member of Love Affair and Morgan.

Maurice Bacon was born in Southgate, London in 1952, to an English father and an Irish mother.

His father was a drummer and met his mother while he was touring in Ireland.

Bacon's first professional group, Love Affair, was managed by Bacon's father, Sid.

1966

Love Affair had formed in 1966 as "The Soul Survivors", and had several UK Singles Chart top 10 hits, including the number one success, "Everlasting Love".

1971

In 1971, Bacon and Love Affair keyboardist Morgan Fisher left the band to form a progressive rock band named Morgan.

1972

Morgan released two studio albums, including Nova Solis in 1972.

1973

They split up in 1973.

Also in 1973, Bacon's father died and Maurice began working with John Otway.

Bacon later worked in video production, and is credited as the producer for Eurythmics' Sweet Dreams: The Video Album.

He would also produce videos of tours and concerts around the world with artists including Chaka Khan, Eurythmics and Jimmy Page, and working on TV shows.

1990

By the 1990s, he was managing French singer Guesch Patti, who had a 1987 hit with Étienne, and for fourteen years, he managed the psychedelic pop band Kula Shaker.

Since the 1990s, Bacon has hosted Renaissance themed festivals, battle re-enactments and jousting games on acres of land he owns, including Loxwood Meadow, a large acre of land his family acquired in 2011.

Bacon's son, Danny, operates a mead business that is tied to the Meadow called the Loxwood Meadow Mead.

Maurice came from a family of percussionists, his father, Sid Bacon, was a drummer at a young age, when he stopped playing the instrument to carry on running his fathers company, his uncle was entertainer and drummer Max Bacon, who played in Ambrose's band on drums, and his cousin was jazz musician Victor Feldman.

Bacon's family founded the 100 Club music venue in London.

1991

In 1991, Bacon co-founded the Independent record label "Ultimate Records" (not the similarly named French label) with friend Andrew Winters.

They signed on acts such as American alternative rock band The Belltower and rap rock group Senser.

1997

The label ended in 1997 when Andrew fell ill and Bacon restarted his work in management.
