Bass player Mark Tulin was born on November 21, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Born to Jewish parents, Mark also had a brother, Kip.

1960

Founding member and bassist of 1960s rock band The Electric Prunes.

1965

In 1965 Tulin became a member of a band called the Sanctions, which eventually changed its name to The Electric Prunes. The Electric Prunes was a popular and successful psychedelic rock group that had hit songs with the groovy tunes "I Had Too Much to Dream (Last Night)" and "Get Me to the World on Time.

1968

" Mark left the group in 1968, but rejoined the band when a resurgence of interest in the band's music inspired The Electric Prunes to get back together in 1999. Moreover, Tulin not only played bass on occasion for the Smashing Pumpkins, but also was a trained deep sea diver who frequently volunteered at the emergency medical facility USC Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber.
