Lloyd was born on January 3, 1986 in New Orleans, LA. He, his mother, and his older sister moved to Atlanta, GA when he was 2, following the murder of his father. Lloyd's music career kicked off with the group N-Toon (which also included his younger brother Chuckie). The group disbanded when he was 14, after about 4 years, but Lloyd continued to make music on his own.

2004

In 2004, he released his debut single and album, "Southside," under Murder Inc. Records. The single featured label-mate and singer-songwriter Ashanti.

2006

His second studio album, yet to be titled, is set for a late 2006/early 2007 release. It's also been confirmed that Lloyd has joined Sho'nuff Records although his contract hasn't finished with The Inc.

2007

Lloyd followed with 2007's, "Street Love," which featured mega-hit single, "You," with rapper Lil' Wayne. The song peaked at #1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart and #9 on their Hot 100 chart; it is still one of the most played and requested songs from his catalog.

2008

After releasing his third album and fourth albums, "Lessons in Love" (2008) and "King of Hearts" (2011), Lloyd took some time away from music to focus on family and school.

2011

King of Hearts was released in the summer of 2011. This album brought Lay It Down and Cupid.

2016

He reemerged in 2016 with "Tru," an intimate bluesy record that revealed a lot of the artists' thoughts, feelings, and struggles.

The single appeared on an EP and LP of the same name, released in 2016 and 2018, respectively.
