He was murdered on September 4, 2005, in Crescent City, California, at the age of 36, after being strangled by his Pelican Bay State Prison cellmate Kevin Roby as part of a "Satanic ritual that was intended as a warning to God. It was noted on file part of his blood was used to create a symbol on the floor to open a portal for Satan. This same symbol was carved into his chest along with a one inch diameter hole to provide Satan access to a skin to wear while walking earth. Lloyd’s cellmate also ingested an unknown amount of blood. The cellmate thought by ingesting the blood he would be opening himself to Satan while simultaneously occupying two vessels at one time."
