Popular English dance band leader (from 1932 to 1958), as well as pianist, composer and arranger. His 'Monseigneur Band' was one of the first orchestras in Britain to feature female vocalists. From 1931 to 1935, Stone was musical director for British and Dominion Studios, as well as working on such stage shows as "Under Your Hat" and "Hide and Seek".
