Timeline

1983

John Bowler was born in London to a Cockney father and an Anglo-Indian mother, moving with his family at a very young age to Newcastle-on-Tyne where he grew up in the Gosforth area, in fact many people assume that he is a 'Geordie' after convincingly portraying one in programmes such as Auf Wiedersehen, Pet (1983). Alongside his sister and 3 brothers, he won a scholarship from Northumberland Education Authority to attend Ackworth School - a Quaker co-ed boarding school near Wakefield in Yorkshire, where he developed his love of the Performing Arts.
