1996

Jocelyn Marquis grew up in San Francisco and began film studies as a teenager at City College of San Francisco. She is the daughter of the pop surrealist and abstract painter John Marquis. In 1996, Jocelyn moved to New York and transferred to City University of New York, Hunter College.

2002

She completed three short films, the surrealist "Squid (roe)", the stop motion animated films "Tecno Opus 6" (2002) and "Theory of Conservation of Energy" (2003) and also produced two documentaries: "Chinatown Since 9-11" and "Chinese Music in Transformation". While in college she was a member the performance art ensemble DreamScapeGoat and provided film and video elements for their multi media events presented in New York underground venues and clubs.

2003

She graduated from Hunter College in 2003 with degrees in Film Production and Studio Art.

2004

Following college Jocelyn acted as Director of Photography on two feature films: "Dead Camera Notebooks" (2004) and cult classic "Us Sinners" (2007) as well as producing and directing music videos.
